The noose tightens?

From Mark Wadsworth we learn:
"Today I have learned through co-conspirators about a judgement made by a senior judge concerning some work on the actions of the Financial Ombudsman's Service. Apparently the Law - presumably the FSMA 2000 - says that the FOS can, when considering a complaint brought to it, simply state that it is not minded to take into account any fact or thing as it decides, and does not have to explain why. And as you may be aware, short of a judicial review (very expensive) there is no appeal for firms regarding FOS decsions. You clearly cannot run an equitable society where capricious bureaucrats have such arbitrary power and zero accountability.
What next? What next?"
What next? Presumably FOI requests will also be suitably amended - likewise questions to our MPs and questions to the PM in Parliament? No doubt the reason given for failure to disclose information will be that said disclosure would undo all the good work that has been carried out, so far, to combat terrorism.

Where MW refers to his previous post, that is also worth reading.

The political elite of our nation are truly mad - fortunately for us we are not inmates of their asylum!

Unfortunately it's a focused madness.

Gentlemen ... I present you with the nearest thing to Kryptonite for dealing with unaccountable gubmint goons.

The Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010 (pdf) and specifically the legal obligations of The Civil Servant's Code of Conduct enshrined therein. Check out Section 1 on the Act's scoping (who's covered)

It's great! - but untested - I am presently working on a case ... they're not going to like it... no siree...

I have had a FOI request changed. I asked for a copy of the TREATY that the PM refused to sign. When I received a response my question was changed to a copy of the DEAL that the PM refused to sign. Included, was a copy of a document that refered to the Euro-Zone countries; a document that the PM could not have signed as it was nothing to do with him (nor the other non-EZ countries).

Financial Ombudsman is PAID by the Banks and is useless - it is designed to avoid Regulation and is a "Voluntary Action"
