Has he got permission?

In today's Sunday Telegraph Robert Watts, Deputy Political Editor, writes that George Osborne has a £10billion dilemma on his mind ahead of this month’s Budget. In view of this report in the WSJ which is a precis of a report from the Dow Jones Newswires - and on which Lord Stoddart commented in the House of Lords - one wonders if our George has clearance for his proposals, whatever they are.

Presumably the picture in the article shows George Osborne in suitable pose while waiting for said clearance.

The thing Mr Osborne should do is nothing. Don't borrow any more money, don't spend any more than you have and don't regard this money as yours; it's ours and we're sick to death of having to fund the government's (Westminster and Brussels) excesses. Reduce taxes, reduce spending and raise interest rates for savers.
Allow losers to lose and allow the prudent to benefit from their foresight.
But of course this won't happen. Mr Osborne will behave as lady bountiful, as all chancellors do.

jic: Politicians can't help themselves which is why we need to clear them out, have a new system of democracy - and start again!
